Soft Maple Sugar Cookies

These sugar cookies are soft, chewy & have the most delicate maple flavor. They come together really quickly and the icing is easy to make. They're SO good! - www.testingforthebestthing.com/soft-maple-sugar-cookies/

These maple sugar cookies will melt in your mouth. Not an ounce of crunch to these babies in the sweetest way possible. I’m not usually the biggest fan of sugar cookies because I just find them boring compared to all the other wonderful cookie options out there. However, the hint of maple flavor in the cookie and the maple icing drizzle make me put my best “self control skills” to the test.

They’re soft, chewy and have the most delicate maple flavor. The really nice thing is you can control the sweetness with how much icing you put on the cookies. My guy definitely has a sweet tooth but not for anything overly sweet so I left some without icing. And definitely made some with extra icing. I brought these to work and they were a big hit! Maple is such a comforting flavor and especially so with the leaves turning color & falling and lighting that first fire of the fall season.

Teriyaki Chicken Noodle Bowls

Wow! This teriyaki dish was so delicious, quick & easy to make. In less time than it would take to wait for delivery, I can make something even yummier! - www.testingforthebestthing.com/teriyaki-chicken-noodle-bowls/

This dish is so unbelievably flavorful. Who doesn’t love the comforting flavors of Asian inspired cuisine? I know it’s one of my ultimate favorites. Seriously, teriyaki has got to be one of the most flavorful and comforting flavors out there in my opinion. The best part about this recipe is that I spent 15-20 minutes in the morning making the sauce/marinade then maybe 15 minutes that evening to get dinner on table. I have nothing but good things to say about a dish that punches you in the mouth with flavor in less than 20 minutes on a weeknight.

My guy loves just about everything I make so I had no doubt he would enjoy this. I didn’t expect him to love it SO much though. It’s kind of a big deal when he gets really overly excited about a new dish and this is one for the books! The recipe book, that is. I haven’t made anything from this creator yet that I haven’t loved but you can read on to see what few things I would do to improve it for next time.

The Best Broccoli Cheese Soup

This is THE BEST Broccoli Cheese Soup you will ever have. It's warm, comforting, delicious, perfect for fall and easy to pull to together. Even better than Panera's version! - www.testingforthebestthing.com/the-best-broccoli-cheese-soup/

This is THE BEST Broccoli Cheese Soup you will ever have. I don’t have a Panera anywhere near me, in fact, I don’t even have one in my country! Hey Panera, mind expanding to Canada?! Whenever I am even remotely near a Panera on a trip South I make a point to enjoy a Broccoli Cheese soup in a sour dough bread bowl. It’s seriously one of the best meals on this planet. I am sooooooooooo happy to report that this recipe is legitimately just as good. This recipe means I can enjoy one of my favorite but (until now) inaccessible meals whenever I darn well please!

It is the most perfect warm, comforting, delicious meal for a Sunday evening. I love to make soups on Sunday nights because they typically require a bit more babysitting than I typically want to commit to for a weeknight meal and it makes for excellent lunch leftovers to start the week off. Plus, a comforting soup just scream “fall Sunday evening” to me. I’m not going to blab on anymore. Just know that this soup is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Oh! My guy even said this may be the best thing I’ve ever made which is saying a lot because he loves 99% of what I make. So for this to come out on top… It’s a big deal!

Banana Pudding Poke Cake

This is the tastiest dessert I've made in long time. AND it only took me 15 minutes to prepare. Couldn't be easier and the ingredients are CHEAP! - www.testingforthebestthing.com/banana-pudding-poke-cake/

This cake is a DREAM! It’s certainly sweet but not over powering. It’s light and fresh yet comforting which makes it a win all year ’round in my books. Plus, the ingredients are so cheap and easy to work with (hello, box cake mix). I whipped this up on a whim before I left for family dinner at my mom’s and decided last minute that I wanted to bring dessert. There’s a bit of dead time due to cooling but as far as how much time you actively spend on preparing this dish… It’s next to nothing. 15-20 minutes TOPS if you’re slow/good at cleaning while you go.

Not only is this dish convenient and easy to make, it was so darn delicious. I really, really wish I had some right now. It’s October right now and so I feel like I should be craving pumpkin/caramel/apple/maple everything but honestly, all I want is this Banana Pudding Poke Cake back in my life. I love the different textures that come from the dense cake, creamy pudding, fluffy whipped topping and crunchy wafers. Okay let’s get to my tweaks for the recipe because if I sing the praises of this recipe anymore, I may get in trouble for harassment. Good thing I’m my own HR Manager.

Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Skillet

This is a great week night meal that's extremely healthy but SO delicious. You can whip it up in 30 mins, clear out your produce and it's so darn tasty! - www.testingforthebestthing.com/ground-turkey-sweet-potato-skillet/

I can’t sing the praises of this dish enough. Now, I will say that I wasn’t overly excited to make it because I really doesn’t look like much. I expected that this would be a good Monday night meal after a weekend of too much over indulging. While that is true-it’s super healthy-what I didn’t expect was to love it so much. Since I’ve had this recipe, I’ve found myself craving it even when I’m not necessarily looking for something healthy because I feel like I have to. This is one of the few recipes that is going to make it into my monthly (I love trying out new recipes way too much to have anything on a weekly basis) rotation.

It’s healthy, amazingly delicious and you can easily customize it to accommodate whatever produce you have on hand. Nothing I love more than a use-up-all-the-crap-in-your-fridge-that-you-almost-have-to-toss meal. Oh, and how could I forget to mention how quickly and easily this all comes together? Read on for my tips to see what makes this already amazing recipe that much better. Andddddd it’s gluten-free. I don’t follow a gluten free diet but I can appreciate recipes that are gluten free and the heavy food coma feeling I’m left without.
