Teacher gifts… Sometimes they can be hard to choose because you want to play it safe and get something generic because you probably don’t know the teacher SUPER well. But at the same time, you want the gift to be personal and to appropriately convey your appreciation.
My happy place is a white sandy beach, clear turquoise waters and unlimited margaritas. And nachos. Going on nice, hot beach vacations is definitely a luxury that me and my guy indulge in on almost a yearly basis. We certainly have to make other sacrifices throughout the year to accommodate this splurge but that week of paradise is so worth it! Over the years I’ve seriously fine-tuned our packing to a science. Read on for what to pack for a hot vacation so you never forgot or fail to think about anything when packing for your next vaca in the sun!
As much as I wish I were a world traveler, I’m just not… Yet! Maybe one day. Unfortunately my finances don’t allow me to go wherever, whenever but I can do Vegas on the cheap! I’ve been 4 times and have paid between $350-$420 (USD) for flight and hotel (incl. tax) every time. I thought this was pretty standard because it’s the pricing I’d always been able to work to get but after chatting with people about it, I realized that what I was doing was actually giving me quite the deal and I had secrets to share!
Before I lose you to skepticism and before we get into all the nitty gritty I want to make 3 things very clear:
Each time I stayed in the very nice, big name hotels right on the strip.
I had convenient (favorably timed), direct flights every time.
I got this awesome idea from Laurient of To The Altar & After to create a long term goal list of 101 things to accomplish in 1001 days. I have a mile-a-minute kind of brain so without lists and my planner, (I’m a slave to it) I’d be lost. Reading Laurient’s post made me realize a solution to a problem I didn’t even realize I had. That problem is that there are many things (big and small) that I want to do, accomplish and learn but I hadn’t documented them. These aren’t necessarily things that would go in to my daily planner and I don’t keep a long term goal list because I feel it would be discombobulated. How fun is the word “discombobulated,” by the way? Enter: the 101 in 1001 list! I think the whole point of this goal list is for it to essentially be a brain dump of wants and goals.
I’m going to have to take Laurient’s lead here and sub-categorize this list. Let’s not get TOO carried away with the discombobulation here! Organization is sexy. You’ll definitely want to check out Laurient’s 101 in 1001 post to see what she’s accomplished so far! Side note: this took me 2 weeks to get 101. I thought it would be way easier to think of 101 semi-long term goals.
