Teacher gifts… Sometimes they can be hard to choose because you want to play it safe and get something generic because you probably don’t know the teacher SUPER well. But at the same time, you want the gift to be personal and to appropriately convey your appreciation.
You want to show appreciation to those wonderful people who take care of your kiddos day in and day out. Those who are patient with them 6 hours a day when your little angels are being their usual, angelic selves and even when they’re acting like they’ve been taken over by something evil.
These are people who teach them how to read, how to do calculus, how to be a bit more independent because mom isn’t here and that’s okay. These are the people that let your kids play with glitter and more importantly clean it up! Have you ever tried to clean up glitter? This alone deserves a Starbucks giftcard…
Teacher gifts are a special way to show appreciation to the unsung heros in the lives of your kiddos almost 30 hours a week.
Today I’m coming at you with 12 teacher gifts ideas that are sure to convey your appreciation of them. My best friend is a teacher of little ones so I have inside information on what teachers will truly love most!
Whether you’re all about the DIY teacher gifts or the quick, yet thoughtful purchased gift, I’ve got a list of real gems.
Starbucks gift card + a coffee tumbler
Whether this teacher likes coffee, tea, or delicious pastries, they’ll be happy! I suggest going for a ‘cold’ tumbler given the time of year. Sure, this is a great teacher gift but even I want this! Hmm, I think I’ll go make myself an iced coffee…
You can take this a step further by using a cute printable like this one here from (photo is from) Just Add Confetti
Side note, I think I should do a post on my coffee maker because it’s amazing, affordable and not really talked about much.
This is only a good option if you actually see this teacher a lot and have a good idea of their style. Something like cute, stud earrings are a safe bet. They’re simple yet special.
H&M has some nice, affordable pieces!
I love, love, love candles and they are my go to hostess gift and would make for great teacher gifts. This kind of gift is perfect because it’s a nice treat that not everyone indulges in. Even if someone has a stash of candles, I personally think that a stash means they love that thing and will appreciate another! I swear I’m not a hoarder.
Bath and Body Works makes my favorite candles.
A huge part of a teacher’s job is to plan. Whether they are Type A and love to plan or have a hard time with it, teachers NEED to plan and that’s just a fact. A beautiful planner that is FUNCTIONAL and will help make their life a little easier will make for one of the best teacher gifts you could possibly give.
Not only is the Living Well Planner beautiful, it is one of the most functional and effective planners on the market.
Flowers or potted plant
Flowers are so sweet and well received. They’re like the universal symbol of appreciation. True as this may be, they die. ☹ A potted plant is a bit more of a long term gift if you don’t love the idea of giving a bouquet of flowers. (PS, I have a DIY option below!)
Stationary & Office Supplies
Duhh! I don’t think I need to go on and on about why this is a fab teacher gift idea. What I will say is that I think this is a good unisex gift idea for the male teachers out there.
You can find some wonderful pen sets on Amazon (because you can find ANYTHING on Amazon!).
If I were a teacher, I would appreciate a bottle of wine, however I don’t know how appropriate that would be… It would depend on the teacher and school. You can find a great printable from Teachers Pay Teachers.

How fitting for a teacher! Not only can she use it during the school year, but she can use it on the beach in summer for her trashy romance novel as she enjoys summer vacation!

First and foremost, these gift ideas are sure to let the teachers that you put your kids in the care of know how much you appreciate them! Secondly, they’re pretty affordable. Lastly, the DIYs are ones your kids will have so much fun making them for their teachers with you. Win-win-win!
